Publication Ethics

Tanzhim al Usrah: Journal of Islamic Family Law is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher, are expected to uphold ethical principles in the submission, review, editing, and publication of scholarly manuscripts.

1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

  • Authors must submit original works that have not been published and are not under consideration by another journal.
  • Authors must ensure that all data, arguments, and references presented in the manuscript are accurate and properly cited.
  • Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.
  • Authors must avoid fabrication, falsification, and manipulation of data.
  • Authors must acknowledge all sources used in the preparation of the manuscript.
  • Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant academic contributions to the manuscript.
  • Authors must disclose any conflict of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
  • If authors discover significant errors in their published work, they must promptly notify the editor and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article.

2. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

  • Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts are suitable for publication based on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
  • Editors must evaluate manuscripts fairly and objectively without discrimination.
  • Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not disclose information to unauthorized parties.
  • Editors must avoid conflicts of interest in handling manuscripts.
  • Editors must ensure that the peer review process is conducted fairly, professionally, and in a timely manner.
  • Editors should take appropriate action when ethical concerns are raised regarding a submitted or published manuscript.

3. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and help authors improve the quality of their manuscripts.
  • Reviewers must review manuscripts objectively, constructively, and professionally.
  • Reviewers must keep all manuscript information confidential.
  • Reviewers should inform the editor of any substantial similarity, overlap, or ethical concern found in the manuscript.
  • Reviewers must not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research without the author’s consent.
  • Reviewers should decline review assignments if they have conflicts of interest or lack sufficient expertise.

4. Ethical Responsibilities of the Publisher

  • The publisher supports the editorial team in maintaining ethical publication practices.
  • The publisher is committed to ensuring academic freedom, editorial independence, and the integrity of the scholarly record.
  • The publisher does not tolerate plagiarism, data manipulation, or other forms of academic misconduct.

5. Plagiarism and Misconduct

All manuscripts submitted to this journal may be screened for plagiarism. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated data, falsified data, or other forms of academic misconduct will be rejected. If misconduct is identified after publication, the journal may publish a correction, clarification, or retraction as necessary.
